From 18–20 September, the Tallinn Week Regatta 2026 took place at Haven Kakumäe, serving as the eighth and final event of the Garmin Sailing Series season. The three-day regatta brought ILCA 6, ILCA 7, RS Aero 5, RS Aero 6, RS Feva, 29er, 49er and 49erFX sailors to the start line in typically stormy autumn conditions. The 2026 Estonian Championships in the 49er and 49erFX classes were also decided as part of the Tallinn Week Regatta.
At the opening ceremony, sailors were welcomed by Tallinn Yacht Club Commodore Helena Raud, Janek Küppar, Head of the Sports Department at the Tallinn Culture and Sports Board, and Tuuli Org, Member of the Board of the Estonian Yachting Union.
The sailing conditions at Tallinn Week showed their most autumnal side.
On the outer course, Course A, the wind remained steady at around 10 m/s, while offshore-sized waves added another challenge for the competitors. For the final race day, the course was moved further inside the bay to avoid the increasingly difficult conditions caused by the strengthening westerly wind.
On the inner Course B, the average wind was weaker and the waves smaller, but sailors had to contend with shifting and powerful gusts. Unexpected stronger gusts provided plenty of surprises even for experienced skiff sailors, and there was no shortage of capsizes.
The stormy conditions had the greatest impact on the Estonian Championships in the 49er and 49erFX classes. For the sailors competing for the national titles, Friday was the only full racing day. Only one race could be completed on Saturday, while Sunday’s wind conditions did not allow racing to take place.
The Estonian Championship titles were won by Juuso and Henri Roihu in the 49er and Mari-Ann Holter and Maris Seersant in the 49erFX.

Tallinn Week provided not only the sailors but also the race organisers with a proper autumn challenge to round off the season. At the prize-giving ceremony, Tallinn Yacht Club Board Member Harri Mikk expressed his thanks to the race’s Principal Race Officer, Finn Jarno Evakoski, and his on-water team, to the protest committee headed by Johanna Poksi, as well as to Secretary General Margit Kangur and her assistants.
Despite the challenging conditions, the Garmin Sailing Series season came to a worthy conclusion at Haven Kakumäe.
