The traditional Tallinn Race Lennusadam regatta, held as part of the Tallinn Maritime Days, concluded on Sunday at the Seaplane Harbour, bringing Estonia’s and Finland’s fastest sailors together with the country’s most promising young talents in front of thousands of spectators over three days. Since its inception in 2010, the regatta has become one of Estonia’s most attractive sailing events, allowing spectators to follow the racing directly from the waterfront and, this year, also on the Tallinn Maritime Days’ giant screen and via a live broadcast.
Over the three days of racing, shifting and unstable winds provided competitors with demanding conditions, keeping the battle for victory open until the final races. Tallinn Race’s unique format meant that the winner of the last day’s final race was also crowned the overall winner of the regatta, leaving the fight for the medals undecided until the very last metres.
The Olympic 49er class delivered a spectacular finale. After leading the regatta during the opening two days, Maru Reiter and Kaur Villem Väiku were overtaken in the decisive final race by brothers Juuso and Henri Roihu, who claimed victory in the final and were crowned the 2026 Tallinn Race Lennusadam champions. Reiter and Väiku finished second, while Mari-Ann Holter and Maris Seersant secured third place.
In the women’s Olympic 49erFX class, Mari-Ann Holter and Maris Seersant won the regatta ahead of Johanna Koit and Iiris Liira.
In the 29er class, Eva-Lotta Soomer and Albert Kepp produced an outstanding performance in the decisive final race to claim overall victory. Finnish sailors Stella Grabowska and Linnea Jaatinen, the regatta leaders after the first two days, finished second, while Ann Carolin Victoria Vürst and Grete Kant, who won two races on Sunday, completed the podium in third place.
In the Optimist class, Aleksandra Remmelgas claimed victory. Kaspar Lumet finished second and Kristjan Remmelgas took third place.
In the RS Feva class, Britta Maipuu and Anna Nicole Ursini were the strongest team on the second and third racing days, securing the overall victory. Maritta Kiviselg and Marietta Mõtlik, winners of the opening day, finished second, while Šahrijar Halõgov and Andrei Sobol placed third.
