Tallinn Race Showcases Estonia’s Fastest Sailors at Tallinn Maritime Days

From 10–12 July, the traditional Tallinn Race Lennusadam will take place at Seaplane Harbour (Lennusadam) as part of the Tallinn Maritime Days festival, offering spectators a unique opportunity to watch one of Estonia’s most exciting sailing competitions directly from the waterfront. Since its inception in 2010, the regatta has become one of the most anticipated sailing events of the summer, bringing together Estonia’s and Finland’s top sailors alongside the country’s most promising young talents.

Over the course of three days, races will be held on the waters immediately in front of Seaplane Harbour in four boat classes: Optimist, RS Feva, 29er, and the Olympic 49er class. Thanks to the race area’s close proximity to the shore, Tallinn Race is one of the few sailing events in Estonia where spectators can follow the action throughout the competition without having to go out on the water.

Tallinn Race combines elite-level sailing with youth competition. Estonia’s young sailors will compete in the Optimist and RS Feva classes, while the 29er and 49er fleets will feature the country’s fastest skiff crews together with sailors who have gained valuable international racing experience. The regatta provides young athletes with an opportunity to compete against Estonia’s best sailors while giving spectators an excellent overview of the pathway from junior sailing to the Olympic classes.

Among Estonia’s best-known sailors competing this year are Eva-Lotta Soomer & Albert Kepp and Ann Carolin Victoria Vürst & Grete Kant in the 29er class, as well as Juuso Roihu & Henri Roihu in the 49er class.

The regatta will officially open on Friday, 10 July, at 11:30. Racing will take place on all three days, with the overall winners being decided on Sunday, 12 July. The prize-giving ceremony will begin at 17:30 on the Seaplane Harbour main stage.
